1. ABOUT THE APP

Lock Apps: Photo & Video Vault is a privacy and security app for Android. It helps you keep your apps and personal files safe from other people who use or pick up your phone.

What the App does:

- Locks apps on your device

- Locks and hides photos, videos, audio files, documents and APK files in a private vault

- Supports PIN, pattern, password and fingerprint lock

- Lets you create separate vault folders with your own names

- Takes an intruder selfie when someone enters a wrong code

- Lets you permanently delete files with secure delete

- Blocks screenshots inside the vault

- Offers different themes to personalize the lock screen

- Shows ads to keep the App available to you

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App uses, which permissions it needs and why, how ads work, and what your rights and responsibilities are.

2. OUR PRIVACY COMMITMENT

- Your files, photos, videos, audio, documents and vault data are never uploaded to any server or the cloud.

- We do not collect, sell or share your personal files or lock credentials.

- Everything you lock stays locally in your device storage.

- You do not need to create an account to use the App.

- The App shows ads through a third-party ad partner. See Section 5 for details.

3. DATA STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE

The following information is stored only on your device. We cannot see it, access it or receive it:

- Files you choose to lock (photos, videos, audio, documents, APK files)

- Vault folders and the names you give them

- Your PIN, pattern or password

- Your app settings and theme choice

- The list of apps you chose to lock

- Intruder selfie photos

4. HOW THE VAULT WORKS

- Files you lock are protected inside the App's vault on your device

- While a file is locked, it may no longer appear in your Gallery, file manager or other apps

- To see or use a file again, open it inside the vault or restore (unlock) it to your device

- Files deleted with Secure Delete are permanently removed and cannot be restored

- Intruder selfies are taken after wrong unlock attempts and are saved only on your device

- Screenshots are blocked inside the vault to protect your private content

5. ADVERTISING

The App shows ads provided by third-party ad partners such as [Google AdMob / your ad network name].

How ads work:

- Ad partners may collect and use certain information to show and measure ads, such as your advertising ID, IP address, device type and model, operating system version, app interactions and diagnostic information.

- This data is collected by the ad partner under its own privacy policy, not by us.

- We do not give ad partners your files, photos, videos, audio, documents, PIN, pattern or password.

- Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your device settings and, where required by law, your consent.

- We do not control the content of ads. Clicking an ad may open a third-party website or app that has its own privacy policy.

Your choices about ads:

- You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your Android device settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads, or Settings > Google > Ads).

- Where required by law (for example in the EEA and UK), the App asks for your consent before showing personalized ads.

7. INFORMATION THE APP DOES NOT COLLECT

The App itself does not collect:

- Your name, email address or phone number

- Your photos, videos, files or documents

- Your PIN, pattern, password or fingerprint data

- Your contacts, messages or call history

- Your precise location

- The contents of the apps you lock

8. PERMISSIONS AND WHY WE NEED THEM

The App requests the following permissions only to provide its features. Information accessed through the permissions below is used only inside the App and is not collected or shared by us.

Installed Apps (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)

- Used to show the apps installed on your device so you can choose which to lock

- The list of your apps is not collected, uploaded or shared

Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS)

- Used to detect which app is currently being opened so the lock screen appears at the right time

- We do not record, store or upload your app usage history

Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)

- Used to show the lock screen on top of the apps you have locked

Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE)

- Used to keep app lock protection running in the background

- A notification is shown while the service is running

Ignore Battery Optimizations (REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS)

- Used to stop the system from closing the lock service so your protection stays reliable

Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)

- Used to show the service notification and important alerts

Start After Reboot (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)

- Used to restart protection automatically after your phone restarts

Camera (CAMERA) - optional

- Used only to take an intruder selfie with the front camera after a wrong unlock attempt

- The photo is saved only on your device

- The App works without this permission, but the intruder selfie feature will not be available

Vibration (VIBRATE)

- Used to give vibration feedback

Storage Access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / "All files access")

- Used to find, move, lock, hide, restore and securely delete the photos, videos, audio, documents and APK files that you choose

- The App works only with the files you select

- On older Android versions, the standard storage permissions are used instead of "All files access"

Fingerprint (Android biometric system)

- If you turn on fingerprint unlock, the App uses your device's built-in biometric system

- Your fingerprint data is handled entirely by your phone's operating system

- The App never receives, accesses or stores your fingerprint data

Internet, Network State and Advertising ID (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, AD_ID)

- Used only to load and show ads

- The App does not use the internet to upload your files or vault data

9. DATA SHARING

- We do not sell, rent or trade your data

- We do not share your files or vault data with anyone

- The only information that may be processed outside your device is the ad-related information described in Section 5, handled by our ad partners

- We may disclose information only if required by law, which is unlikely because we do not hold your data

10. DATA RETENTION

- Your files, folders and settings stay on your device until you delete them, restore them, uninstall the App or clear the App's data

- We do not keep any of your data on our servers

- Ad-related data is kept by the ad partner according to its own privacy policy

11. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

- We do not transfer your files or vault data anywhere

- Our ad partners may process ad-related data in countries other than your own, under their own privacy policies and safeguards

12. DATA SECURITY AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

- Your vault data is stored locally on your device

- Keeping your device secure is your responsibility

- Choose a lock that is hard to guess and do not share your PIN, pattern or password with others

- Remember your PIN, pattern or password

- Keep your phone's operating system updated

- No app or device can be 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute protection against every risk

13. RESPONSIBLE USE

- Lock only files that you own or have the right to store

- Do not use the App to hide or store illegal content

- We do not monitor, review or access the files you lock, so you are responsible for them

- The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of the apps you choose to lock

14. DATA LOSS DISCLAIMER

Because all your data is stored only locally on your device and we keep no copy or backup, your locked files, vault folders and settings may be permanently deleted or become inaccessible if:

- You uninstall the App

- You clear the App's data or cache

- You reset or factory reset your phone

- You format your storage, change your phone or lose your device

- You remove or damage your storage card or your storage becomes corrupted

- You use Secure Delete (deleted files cannot be restored)

- You delete or change vault data using a file manager, cleaner app or another app

- A phone update, system error or bug affects the App's local data

- Any other reason removes the App's local data

Please note:

- We cannot recover deleted or lost data

- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible or liable for any loss, deletion, corruption or inaccessibility of your data

- Please restore (unlock) your important files from the vault and keep a backup before uninstalling the App, clearing data or resetting your phone

15. BEFORE YOU UNINSTALL, RESET OR CHANGE YOUR PHONE

Your locked files are stored only on your device. Please protect your data before you do any of the following:

- Uninstall the App

- Clear the App's data or cache

- Reset or factory reset your phone

- Format your storage

- Change, sell or give away your phone

- Use a cleaner or optimizer app that may delete app data

What you should do first:

- Open the App and unlock the vault with your PIN, pattern, password or fingerprint

- Unhide or restore all your files (photos, videos, audio, documents and APK files) from every vault folder back to your device storage

- Wait until the restore is complete and do not close the App or restart your phone in the middle of it

- Make sure your phone has enough free storage for the restored files

- Check your Gallery or file manager to confirm that your files are back

- Copy important files to a safe place, such as a computer, external storage or a cloud service of your choice

- Do not use Secure Delete on any file you want to keep, because deleted files cannot be restored

- Remember your PIN, pattern or password, because you need it to open the vault and restore your files

Please note:

- If you uninstall the App, clear its data or reset your phone without restoring your files first, your locked files may be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered

- Your locked files and settings are not moved to a new phone automatically

- We keep no copy or backup of your data, so we are not able to restore it for you (see Section 14)

16. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

- You can turn off any permission at any time in your phone's Settings, but some features may stop working

- You can stop all use of the App by uninstalling it

- You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your phone's settings

- You can withdraw your ad consent at any time where the App offers this option or through your device settings

If you are in the EEA, UK or another region with data protection laws:

- You may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and withdrawal of consent

- We do not hold your personal data on our servers, so there is no data for us to provide or delete

- For ad-related data, please contact the ad partner or use the ad controls in your device settings

If you are a California resident:

- We do not sell your personal information ourselves

- Ad-related data handled by our ad partners is described in Section 5, and you can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings

17. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

- The App is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires)

- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children

- If you believe a child has provided information to an ad partner through the App, please contact us

18. YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THIS POLICY

- By downloading and using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy

- If you do not agree, please do not use the App and uninstall it

19. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time

- Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date

- Continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy
